Question re visiting March 2022
Hey all. Thanks for approving me. I live in the US (Florida) and my 13 year old son is a GK for a very competitive team down here. Absolutely loves the sport. We had a family trip to London cancelled in oct 2020 due to Covid and now we have rescheduled for March 16-21 2022. I know the premier league schedule gets announced later this week. Was wondering about tickets - how hard would it be to get into London stadium to catch a game? What is approximate cost? It also looks like round of 16 Europa 2nd leg is scheduled to happen on March 17, so that would be an option as well. Anything else you’d suggest to someone from the States?? Thanks for your responses.

Joe

Re: Question re visiting March 2022
Hi Joe,

Welcome.

You have been given a very untraditional WHO welcome, we usually take the Spartan approach of absolutely hanging out newbies to dry and if they come back next day they are strong enough in fortitude and ego to stay :-)

We are very much the underground unofficial, toxic waste of the supporter strata, but definitely the most fun at parties*

I see you have had some really excellent advice, been called a cunt and Hermit has his clipboard ready to receive your responses to the oh so vital questions a WHOer needs to answer.

You haven't yet mentioned a female partner or relative, but rest assured when you do you will receive the response: Link?

*We only get invited once.

Re: Question re visiting March 2022
Welcome to WHO Joe, good to see you have got a nice welcome and some helpful advice. I’m hoping to catch a baseball game in Miami this year myself and maybe a pre season gridiron game if I’m lucky.

There is one bit of etiquette that I’m surprised nobody has mentioned yet. Traditionally new members answer a small questionaire to help us get to know them.

1) Have you ever wiped your knob on an electrical product in an attempt to fix it?

2) what are your favourite crisps?

3) Are the MOBOs racist?

4) Will you ever post a thread here that isn’t West Ham related?

5) Have you ever been cunted in the bastard?

If you cant get tickets the next best thing might be a London Stadium walking tour. C&P'ed from the brochure:-

Join us for a walk from the base of the Trevor Brooking stand to the side of the pitch on this guided walking tour.

Itinerary

09:00 We set out from the base of the famous Trevor Brooking stand. Close your eyes and you can almost hear a cheeky cockney war cry raining down from the seats - "COME ON YOU IRONS" "WE CAN DO IT WEST HAM" "FUCK OFF BRADY YOU FAT CUNT!"

10:30 We approach stewards stations where our crack stewards team vigilantly monitor the match. There will be an opportunity to don a hi-vis, some boots, and pretend to be asleep for a cheeky selfie keepsake.

12:00 As we approach the halfway point there is an opportunity for refreshment, London Stadium style. Popcorn & flat lager will be served on the iconic green grocers AstroTurf (£27 surcharge)

14:00 Get your boots on - it's challenge time! Anyone who can kick a ball from here onto the pitch wins a signed copy of 'I'm From Green Street' by Green Street's own David Gold, formerly of Green Street.

16:00 Mr Moon is on the pitch! Actually he isn't, but you will be so have a photo done at the end of your epic journey. 15 mins to take it all in, before an overnight bus takes you back to Stratford Intl for world class transport links home.

That sounds a great idea Nurse, I will do that, if they ever lift the quarantine and let me and family back to to see my Dad, who I haven’t seen now for 18 efing months.

Try this link to find your local supporters group. They might be able to help. Not sure the one in Florida is actually American though! I've met people from the NYC and Baltimore groups and they were very friendly.

As long as we're not playing a big club when you're here then you should be able to get tickets. Just don't buy from the touts (scalpers to you) as they will rip you off.

Look on here before the game and someone may be able to help.

Is there an international fan club I should consider joining in an attempt to access tickets (for either premier league if fixtures break my way tomorrow or for that Europa game)

Well there's over 10,000 lakes in Minnesota, so you have plenty of choice and Hazeltine National Golf Club has hosted the US open and PGA but I'm sure you never played golf there

I lived in the states for some time, the word CUNT is absolutely taboo over there, I may have let it slip a few times I then explained it can be a term of endearment in the UK such as "how are you doing you old cunt"

I knew I’d start problems somewhere lol.

Is west ham expected to do well in the Europa league? Would that be a tough ticket (17 March, how’s that)?

Nobody approved you. We only do disapproval here.

You’ve selfishly deprived us of the chance to rant at the word soccer. Not a good start.

Anyway, it’s 16th-21st March, you cunt.

Any idea how much the international hammers membership runs?

We did a family trip in Paris a few years ago and I joined PSGs group. I did get tickets though.
